Ecotourism Australia (EA) was formed in 1991 after Australia's first Ecotourism Conference held at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Queensland.

In 1996 EA launched the world first ECO certification for tourism. Since then EA has grown to to be respected throughout the world as a pioneer organisation.

in 2011, EA will have been running ECO certification for 15 years and will celebrate by achieving the milestone of 1,000 ECO certified tourism experiences in Australia.

We plan on celebrating that ahievement along with many others this year. Two evenst worth noting are:

• Global ECO Conference 2011
